letter from the president

WELCOME TO ALPHA PHI AT CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY

My name is Megan Mullen, and I have the honor and the privilege of serving as our chapter’s President this year! I am grateful to lead this group of compassionate, talented, inspiring, and graceful women. I welcome you to explore our website to learn more about Alpha Phi and the sisters of our chapter.

This school year has been nothing but normal, but our sisters have found unique and creative ways to stay connected throughout the semester. During the fall semester of 2020, the sisters of Alpha Phi was able to conduct a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross. During the pandemic of COVID-19, the American Red Cross has been attempting to tackle the blood shortage. We had many Alpha Phi sisters, students, and faculty throughout the Creighton community donate blood. This was a great way for our sisters to volunteer in support of our philanthropy(women’s heart health) and the community at this time of need. We were also able to stay connected to our sisters through an online chapter and a virtual chapter retreat! We included fun themes and activities in our chapters this semester to create a welcoming and engaging environment for our sisters!

The sisters of Alpha Phi are planning for new and successful ways that we can grow our sisterhood through service opportunities, philanthropic events, retreat experiences, programming, and sisterhood events in the year of 2021. We are especially excited to grow our chapter and welcome new members through Primary Recruitment in January. We have been getting ready and looking forward to Winter Recruitment through our virtual recruitment polishes throughout the semester.

As we grow closer to the new year, a year of new experiences and growth for our chapter. I reminisce on my experience of going through recruitment myself and being a new member in Alpha Phi. During each day of recruitment I remember meeting my future sisters with all different stories and backgrounds who shared similar values and goals for the future that make this chapter unique. I was welcomed into this chapter with open arms and open hearts. Alpha Phi has become my home away from home and I have been able to grow in this chapter more then I could have ever imagined. Alpha Phi is a place where sisters sincerely care for one another while pushing each other to become the best version of themself.

Alpha Phi is led by six core values that have been concrete in our sisterhood since 1872. Our sisterhood values that have shaped our chapter are: Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Loyalty, and Character Development. These values have lead our chapter to become a sisterhood of women supporting one another in lifelong achievement.

Alumnae, fellow sisters, and future interests, please feel free to contact me with any further questions you may have. Alpha Phi is always here for you.

LOVE & AOE,

megan mullen
